Logistics for the marginalized: The quest for equitable access to goods in the transport system of the future
Research Project, 2020 – 2021

The project addresses customer segments that are currently marginalized by the emerging modes of deliveries, such as the elderly population and their access to existing online delivery services for food products. The problem will be analyzed from the perspectives of transport engineering, marketing, services, and supply chain, using evidence from interviews and stated preference data to develop behavioral models. Online food delivery data will also be analyzed to identify underserved segments of the population. Based on the results principles for an equitable transition to future systems will be presented.
