Modelling of properties and damage in wheel and rail materials (CHARMEC MU30)
Research Project, 2013
– 2027
This senior research project complements the doctoral projects dealing with the characterisation and modelling of material behaviour. The tasks include continuing to develop collaborations with experts on advanced materials characterisation and material modelling, handling the compilation of results for EU projects, and engaging in specialised studies that will benefit CHARMEC. The overall aim is to achieve higher quality in the knowledge chain, starting from designing tests to characterising mechanical material behaviour relevant for wheel and rail performance, all the way to interpreting results for robust implementation into material models useful for predicting cyclic deformation, damage and fatigue.
