Efficient identification of misuses of e-scooters & e-bikes and maintenance needs of bicycle infrastructure
Research Project, 2023 – 2024

Enhancing road safety for e-scooter and e-bike drivers is of great significance given ever increasing micromobility and their unproportionally high traffic accidents since 2019: only around 1% of trips made by electric micro-mobility according to national travel survey yielding nearly 4% of traffic accidents registered in Strada.

The project aims to develop a prototype of cost-effective anomaly detector for misuses of e-scooters e.g. driving under alcohol influence, speeding, as well as mapping poorly maintained bicycle infrastructure.
