Visualization and IT in product and production development
Research Project, 2012 – 2015

Project Vis-IT will deliver product development software that is easy to use. In project Vis-it, members from Industry and Chalmers University will investigate why today's enterprise systems are so complex and difficult to use. The research results will be presented in both publications and in prototype software tools.

The purpose of the project is to develop and evaluate methods and support for integrating de visual, and commonly analog, methods used within the ´Lean´ paradigm (e.g. visual planning, PULS, checklists and A3s) with the virtual methods used within CAx and PLM. The goal is to support global teams to use Lean methods in order to increase the traceability between the planning, execution and deliveries of engineering work.
