Development of sea-based wind parks and high voltage grids using direct current
Research Project, 2010 – 2016

The project deals with design of different components of DC offshore wind farms. The aim of the project is to design the DC grid, generators, DC-DC converters as well as high frequency transformers. There is a huge potential for DC offshore wind farms in North Sea that are connected to DC links between the UK, Norway, Netherlands and Denmark.
