SWC Skalbar sladdlös laddning
Research Project, 2015 – 2018

This project addresses the challenge of scaling the concept of wireless charging, building on the current consensus and coming standards of inductive charging. Scaling wireless charging means developing robust, safe and efficient technology, which can be used on many markets, and enabling fast charging using the same technology in the vehicle, while available. The project will focus on improved scalability and efficiency considering SiC technology, which is one of the most promising alternatives to today’s inverter technology, with considerably lower losses and improved operation conditions. SWC will also improve robustness and safety by means of applied research and development on a car, where standard equipment can be combined with laboratory equipment. The latter experiments will also provide knowledge in scaling the power of wireless charging, towards the 20kW or more required for real fast charging.
