Virtual Electric Propulsion system
Research Project, 2018 – 2022

The rapidly increasing interest for electrification in the automotive industry has led to new technology in form of electric powertrain systems being added to existing and coming vehicle platforms. This puts high demands on the development of virtual system models in order to realize the ambition prevalent in many industries to move towards virtual product development. This project aims to tackle these problems by building up knowledge and a framework for a flexible system model architecture for electric powertrains to mirror a modularized product development approach. Models of existing and future components will be developed and used in the system model for virtual verification of hardware and software. In addition, tools and methods for calculating the radiated electromagnetic fields from the electric powertrain system in different environments will be developed.
