Developing innovation capabilities in the emerging ecosystem of autonomous driving Phase II
Research Project, 2019 – 2022

Purpose and goal: The purpose of this research project is to develop knowledge on and support the development of innovation capabilities in the context of an emerging innovation ecosystem. The research strategy is to observe and intervene in order to support the required organizational changes and to build lasting innovative and managerial capabilities. Expected results and effects: The ultimate goal is to support the partner firms in realizing innovative products and services, related to the potential paradigm shift to autonomous driving. The ambition is also to develop knowledge that is useful to other actors in the innovation ecosystem and actors in similar emerging ecosystems. Approach and implementation: The project is based on three sub-projects, one focusing on AD development at Volvo Cars, one focusing on Zenuity and their strategic development work and one studying the role of intermediaries in the open ecosystem.
