240 Gbit/s VCSEL array for multicore fiber interconnects

We report on the performance of a 6-channel 850-nm VCSEL array intended for multicore fiber interconnects and demonstrate individual channels capable of 40 Gbit/s error-free transmission for an aggregate capacity of 240 Gbit/s.
