Analyses of electrostatic fields in the vicinity of a bucket on an insulated aerial vehicle and electrical gas discharges on a hotstick
Report, 2017

Results of systematic studies of electrostatic environment during live line work on three phase high voltage power line and electrical discharges on the energized hotstick are presented and discussed. The studies are performed by means of computer simulations and investigate different scenarios, which may lead to a failure of the insulation of the tool. Possible use of a protective shed and mechanisms of its effect on suppression of electric gas discharge activities on the stick are analyzed.
