5G NLOS Positioning with Multi-Bounce Mitigation by Iterative Weighted Least Squares
Paper in proceeding, 2023

5G positioning is a rapidly developing area that presents both opportunities and challenges. Existing techniques for 5G positioning often rely on either multiple anchor nodes with line-of-sight (LOS) paths or single reference nodes with single-bounce non-LOS (NLOS) paths. However, identifying the LOS or single-bounce paths in dense multipath environments is very challenging. The multi-bounce paths will have a significant impact on positioning accuracy, particularly in urban environ-ments where there are many reflective surfaces. To address these challenges, we propose an iterative single anchor-based 5G positioning algorithm in NLOS multipath environments with multi-bounce path mitigation.
