Learning to write in the era of AI: Hazards and possibilities
Other conference contribution, 2024

What helps students learn to write? Can technology –including Large Language Models (LLM) and Generative AI (GAI) hinder or enhance their learning? In this seminar, I will talk about what I learned in my research on learning to write and writing pedagogy in educational settings. I will briefly discuss learning theories such as self-regulated learning and metacognition and how they can be promoted in the classroom. Finally, I will present the latest research of my group on critical AI literacy: what kind of knowledge and skills are useful to students, and how to set up classroom activities that promote them.

Invited seminarium at the bi-annual conference Leda Lärande, organized by Stockholm Stad - Utbildningsförvaltningen
