Mapping Key Stakeholders and their Information Requirements to Integrate Ecodesign and its Principles in the Overall Aircraft Development Process
Other - Exhibition, 2024

To reach the targets set by European Green Deal, new aircraft technologies need to be developed. In this context and as part of the Short and Medium Range - Aircraft Architecture and Technology Integration Project (SMR ACAP), an environmental co-design approach is being developed to integrate ecodesign and its principles in the overall aircraft development process. As part of this approach, environmental impacts of new aircraft concepts will be evaluated using life cycle assessment (LCA). The work presented is composed of two activities: (1) a stakeholder analysis and (2) identification of information requirements. The first activity mapped the stakeholders involved in the development process of new aircraft concepts and their role in integrating environmental sustainability. The second activity consists of a survey to collect stakeholders’ inputs regarding data they can provide for LCA and how the LCA results should be presented to support decisions in the aircraft development process.
