Improving demand and supply planning through artificial intelligence
Other conference contribution, 2025

Artificial Intelligence (AI) has the potential to improve demand and supply planning, which can enable an organization to serve their customers efficiently. The purpose is hence to understand how AI could be utilized in this process through a multiple case study where the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process is studied. Several areas where AI and automation could be implemented within the S&OP were identified. Along with that, some barriers like lack of digitalization, trust, and data availability are also identified. This study contributes towards practical implementation of AI in S&OP.
