An Arbitrary Lagrangian Eulerian Formulation For Simulation Of Wheel-Rail Contact

A novel ALE-formulation of a rolling wheel is presented in the context of finite element simulations. Numerical examples illustrate the proposed strategy for a two-dimensional problem.
