Experimental investigation of nonlinearity mitigation properties of a hybrid distributed Raman/phase-sensitive amplifier link

The first experimental demonstration of a long-haul transmission system utilizing both phase-sensitive amplifiers and distributed Raman amplification is presented. The impact of the span power map in a nonlinear transmission regime is investigated.
