Ahmed Hazem Eldesoky
Ahmed Eldesoky is an engineer and architect by undergraduate education. His research falls under the grand umbrella of human geography to understand the mutual spatial interaction between human communities and the environment. It particularly centers on the use and application of urban analytics (including GIS, data mining and machine learning) and environmental sensing (with a veer towards low-cost solutions) to understand the impact of the built environment or urban form on the natural environment (including climate, air, fauna, humans and their health and resilience).
Ahmed received his PhD degree in Urbanism from Iuav University of Venice in 2022 and a MSc cum laude in Urban Studies from Politecnico di Milano in 2018. He is currently a postdoctoral researcher at the Spatial Morphology Group (SMoG) at the Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden. Before joining SMoG, Ahmed was a postdoctoral researcher at the Urban Simulation Lab (Labsimurb) in the Department of Architecture and Urban studies (DAStU) at Politecnico di Milano, Italy. Since 2024, Ahmed serves as an Associate Editor at Cities & Health international Journal.
