Secure 5G/6G radio positioning and sensing for transport systems
Forskningsprojekt, 2024
– 2025
This project is an exploratory study on the interdisciplinary topic of security in 5G and 6G radio positioning and radar sensing for connected safety. Vehicles and road users are increasingly connected and rely on 5G (and soon 6G) systems for safety-critical applications (e.g., autonomous driving). These applications require not only communication, but also absolute position and orientation estimation, as well as radar sensing from the communication system, complementing onboard sensors. Due to the safety-critical nature of the applications, it is both urgent and timely to address the question of how secure the new 5G/6G positioning and sensing (P&S) processes and protocols are. This 2-year project aims to address this question.
