Development of Interdisciplinary Assessment for manufacturing and deSign (DIAS)
Forskningsprojekt, 2020
– 2023
DIAS was set up to include welding assessment in conceptual design space exploration by introducing simulation abilities for weld simulation already in the design experiments. Learning and interactive multidisciplinary decisionmaking based on digitalised experiments has been enabled through integration and automation of modelling and simulation activities.
DIAS aimed to contribute to the design and realisation of next generation aeroengine structural components - necessary to meet the challenges of ACARE 2050 targets.
The results is a digital design experiments methodology that bring in manufacturability and especially weldability parameters into the design studies of advanced structural jet engine components. The system has been developed and validated in tight collaboration with GKN Aerospace Engine Systems, and the results are being published scientifically. The results have further been used in dialouge with European Aerospace partners and used as input to Roadmaps and strategeis for Clean Aviation.
Scientific publications still under review will appear on this site as they are becoming published.
