Retrospective Analysis of ESS166 Kommunikationssystem E3

A retrospective analysis is made of the pedagogical ideas behind the course ESS166 Kommunikationssystem E3. The course is a five credit course that was given in the third year of the Electrical Engineering program at Chalmers University of Technology during 2002-2007, and it is built on project based learning. It has been developed and refined based on our experience of good teaching, but without solid foundation from the author’s side on current thinking in the educational sciences. Thus, the aim of this article is to clarify, and in the best case justify the course layout, but also to identify improvement ideas of the pedagogy in the course, which could be used in the development of future courses at the department.
