Tommy Svensson
Tommy Svensson är professor i kommunikationssystem vid Chalmers tekniska högskola, och leder forskningen kring trådlösa system om luftgränssnitt och trådlösa backhaul-nätverksteknologier. Han fick en Ph.D. i informationsteori från Chalmers 2003, och har arbetat på Ericsson AB med core-, radioaccess- och mikrovågsnät. Han var aktiv i de europeiska WINNER I/II/+- och ARTIST4G-projekten med viktiga bidrag till 3GPP LTE-standarderna, EU METIS och mmMAGIC och 5GCar-projekten mot 5G och EU Hexa-X & Hexa-X-II, RISE-6G , SEMANTIC, och nystartade ROBUST-6G och ECO-eNET-projekt mot 6G, och i Chase/ChaseOn och nystartade WiTECH antennsystem excellenscenter på Chalmers inriktade på mm-vågs- och (sub)-THz-lösningar för access, backhaul/fronthaul och V2X-scenarier. Hans huvudsakliga forskningsintressen är design och analys av mobila kommunikationssystem, fysiska lageralgoritmer, fleranvändare-åtkomst, resursallokering, kooperativ/kontextstödd/säker kommunikation, mm-våg/sub-THz kommunikation, C-V2X, JCAS, satellitnätverk, hållbar design och heltäckande arkitektur. Han har varit medförfattare till 6 böcker, 111 tidskrifter, 151 konferensbidrag och 80 publika EU-projekt leverabler. Han är grundande medlem/redaktör för IEEE JSAC Series on Machine Learning in Communications and Networks, varit ordförande för det prisbelönta IEEE Sweden Vehicular Technology/ Communications/ Information Theory Societies kapitel, redaktör för IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications, IEEE Wireless Communications Letters, Guest redaktör för topptidskrifter, organiserade tutorials och workshops på topp IEEE-konferenser, ledande lokal arrangör av EuCNC & 6G Summit 2023, och koordinator för Communication Engineering Master's Program på Chalmers.
