Results to exemplify the joint EU-project INNOTRACK – Innovative track systems
Paper i proceeding, 2009

The INNOTRACK R&D project is today in its third year. Today about 100 deliverables out of 130 are ready. The research in INNOTRACK focuses on mixed traffic and deals with three key parts of the track namely track support structure, switches & crossings and rails & welding. The innovative results from INNOTRACK are, in addition to the technical analysis, scrutinized from an LCC and RAMS perspective as well as from a logistic standpoint. The result shows that significant reduction to costs is possible to reach. The paper gives a short overview of INNOTRACK and then goes into more detail on some results with bearing to heavy haul operations.
