Anders Ekberg
Forskar inom hållfasthetslära, främst järnvägsmekanik med fokus på nedbrytning, utmattning och haverier relaterade till tåg och spår. Målet är att förbättra utformning och förebyggande underhåll. En viktig aspekt är att analysera driftsdata och relatera dessa till fortlöpande nedbrytning av komponenter i fordon och spår. Detta används till att undvika störningar och haverier bland annat genom att förbättra underhållsplanering och planera utbyten. För ett så komplext och störningskänsligt system som järnvägen är detta extremt viktigt då oplanerade driftstörningar får stora konsekvenser. Mer effektiv och tillförlitlig järnvägsdrift har även stora ekonomiska och miljömässiga fördelar.
