Effectiveness of Production Systems - A Problem Concerning Information to the Design Department

The significance of product design for production economy has been the centre of attention during the last decade. This paper discusses the observations from a research project which dealt with the problem of adapting the product and the production system to each other in order to reduce the production cost. This paper focuses on the flow of information to the design department and the way in which this influences the result as regards ease of production.
