Measurements of geometry changes in railway turnout components
Rapport, 2005

This report presents measurements of geometry changes in railway turnout components. Cross sections of the crossing component and the blade component are measured by means of a so-called Miniprof equipment. The measurements show that large plastic deformation is a relevant damage mechanism as compared to other damage mechanism such as wear and crack propagation. Moreover, the results are believed to be important for the evaluation of numerical predictive models.
