Manufacturing’s Wicked Problems (Partially) Explained Through Social Network Analysis

This paper reports on an empirical case study based in a UK manufacturing company which was striving for more effective employee engagement. Social Network Analysis (SNA) was used to investigate the situation through a consultative approach involving the workforce in a structured debate about employee engagement and its possible effects upon the organisation. The paper reveals how employee engagement varies depending
upon the characteristics of an individual and how they interact with other employees.
