Electromagnetic clocks at the rim of metamaterial black holes
Paper i proceeding, 2019

It is notoriously difficult to emulate black hole physics with experiments on earth. This is especially true when emulating the event horizon, which requires controlling materials or experimental settings in time. In contrast, here, we show that hallmark phenomena such as a gravitational red shift can be imposed by a static metamaterial black hole. To this end, we solve for the spontaneous emission rate of a twolevel emitter inside a metamaterial black hole, which serves as an electromagnetic clock.
