Visualizing cultural values in urban planning - a preparatory framework for their integration in digital twins
Paper i proceeding, 2025

This study systematizes and specifies requirements for the development of visualization concepts for cultural values integrated into an Urban Digital Twin to support planning and transformations processes. For Gothenburg, Sweden, documents on cultural values were reviewed. In a workshop with representatives from the cultural sector, cultural and planning administration, and researchers, potential users, user needs, and parameters were identified. Results comprise a framework with four aggregation levels of cultural values: Context, Key values, Connections, and Effects/space programming. Selected parameters for development of visualization concepts are events, flows of people, and local spatial conditions. The visualization concepts will later be integrated and tested in digital systems used by the city.
