MANAGING THE DEVELOPMENT OF INNOVATIVE CUSTOMER-ADAPTED ENERGY SERVICES
Övrigt konferensbidrag, 2025

The real estate and construction sector accounts for 20% of Sweden’s greenhouse gas emissions, and the buildings for 40% of the energy use. To meet sustainability goals, these levels must be drastically reduced. Achieving this requires well-planned energy services developed early through collaboration between energy companies, construction firms, and property owners. These services can help to reduce energy consumption, creating new competitive advantages that contribute to both sustainability and profitability. However, cross-sector collaboration causes challenges, as the actors involved have different perspectives and objectives. This planned research will focus on investigating how the collaboration between construction companies, property owners as customers, and energy companies should be organized for the development of innovative customized energy services. Data will be collected from an explorative study of an on-going collaboration project focusing development of new innovative energy services, and by interviewing relevant actors, for example energy companies, construction companies and property owners. By developing basic principles for cross-sector collaborative development of energy services the project will help strengthen the competitive advantage for all involved parties, and contribute to a more integrated, flexible, and robust energy system.
