Swedish National Program of graduate education in biomaterials

The Swedish national graduate course education program in biomaterials, supported by Swedish Foundation for Strategic Research (SSF), is discussed. The program was established in 1997 to develop skilled individuals in both academic/ health care and industrial environments. The program consists of several courses which include introduction to biomaterials, introduction to biomedicine, materials science for biomaterials, advanced course in biomaterials and summer school in biomaterials. The course also consists of lectures, groupwork, site visits to clinics and industry and demonstrations of procedures and techniques.
