Constitutive Model for Concrete Subjected to Cyclic Loading; Biaxial Tension
Paper i proceeding, 2005

The paper deals with concrete subjected to cyclic loading, in biaxial tension. The model is based on the theory of plasticity combined with the theory of damage mechanics. The concept of bounding surface is used, considering four yield surfaces, to capture the non-linearity that concrete exhibit. The flow rule is associated and isotropic hardening is used. An evolution law for the elastic domain is proposed, dependent on the dissipation of fracture energy, i.e. the elastic domain decreases with increasing damage. In addition, an energy balance equation is proposed, which deals with the dissipation of fracture energy while completing a hysteresis loop.
