Transmission characteristics of dielectric loaded double trapezoidal-ridge waveguide

As a new kind of broadband microwave component, transmission characteristics of dielectric loaded double trapezoidalridge waveguide have been analysed by edge element method. Variations of the cutoff wavelength, single-mode bandwidth and field patterns with the ridge dimensions for different values of dielectric constant have been investigated in details. Numerical results in this article provide an extension to the existing design data for ridge waveguides and are considered helpful in practical applications. (c) 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
