Christer Johansson
Christer Johansson is a senior expert at the magnetic sensor group at RISE Research Institutes of Sweden – Sensor Systems.
Christer received a M. Sc. in Physics at Umeå University in 1988 and a Ph. D. in Physics at Chalmers University of Technology and Göteborg University in 1993 in the field of magnetic nanoparticles and magnetic liquids. During 1994 Christer worked with magnetic nanoparticles in magnetic resonance imaging at Nycomed Imaging in Oslo and from 1995 to 1998 he worked at Chalmers University on magnetic nanostructures, magnetic analysis and teaching. During 1998 and 2000 Christer worked at Ericsson Microwave systems with airborne radar systems and since 2000 Christer works at RISE Acreo AB – Sensor Systems with magnetic nanoparticles, magnetic analysis, AC susceptometry, sensitive magnetic sensor systems, impedance spectroscopy, force sensors and general sensor applications. In 2002 Christer was appointed Associate Professor in Physics at Chalmers University of Technology and in 2015 he was appointed Adjunct Professor in Physics at the Microtechnology and Nanoscience department at Chalmers University of Technology.
Christer has published over 140 papers in peer reviewed scientific journals in the field of magnetic nanostructures and magnetic analysis and he is a co-inventor of over 15 patents. One of the patents resulted in a spin-off company and Christer is one of the co-founders of Vasasensor, focused on wireless sensor systems for the paper industry. Christer also started up and was coordinator of the EU FP7 NMP project NanoMag focused on standardization of analysis methods for magnetic nanoparticles.
