Karin Norling

Doctoral Student at Nano and Biophysics

I joined the Division of Biological Physics for my Master’s thesis in 2014. My research project is aimed at developing and characterizing nanoparticles for mucosal vaccine delivery. I develop in vitro assays as characterization tools to study cellular uptake and processing of nanoparticles. I hope to elucidate how the properties of the particles influence how they are processed by immune cells and how that in turn affects the elicited immune response. Such knowledge is currently lacking and could contribute to rationalizing the development process of vaccine formulations.
