Gustavo Pinares was born in Lima, Peru. He received his B.Sc. degree from Universidad Nacional de Ingeniería, in 2003, the M.Sc. and the Ph.D. degree in Electric Power Engineering from Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden, in 2010, and 2016, respectively. His research area focuses on stability of grid connected converters. He teaches courses in the area of power system and power electronics as well as supervises master thesis.
