Johan Thörn

Johan Thörn is a projectleader at the Division of Geology and Geotechnics, research group Engineering Gelology and geotechnics at Chalmers. The research is about how mechanical and hydraulic properties interact for fractured bedrock. The topic of hydromechanical coupling is of interest for the long-term safety of a repository for spent nuclear fuel. The work aims at increasing the conceptual understanding of the rock mass, and is supported by laboratory and in-situ measurements. The project is financed by the Swedish Nuclear Fuel and Waste Management Co.
