Integration of Qualitative Data - Development of digital method and proof of concept for automated visualization of perception of urban places
Research Project, 2019

The aim of the project is to develop a proof of concept of an automated method to spatially integrate qualitative data regarding the perception of urban places into a virtual platform. Based on interviews and document data for a selected case area the following research questions are explored: How can the perception of urban places be integrated in a common virtual platform? How to keep and present feelings and other intangible social data in a digitalization? If the proof of concept goes well, the method can be scaled up and contribute with a new dimension to traditional analysis of urban environments. The project links to two ongoing research projects at Chalmers: “Stitching the city” and “Virtual City@Chalmers”.
