GAIA - Graphene Application in Industrial Scale
Research Project, 2022 –

The project's aim is to establish a flexible pilot plant for small-scale production of graphene-based processes. It addresses the challenges of scaling up, continuous operation, and maintenance of a chemical process. This effort is expected to facilitate in-depth evaluation and conversations with potential clients, forming the foundation for a scalable business model.

Graphene's addition to metal or polymer surface treatments is designed to improve electrical conductivity, corrosion protection, and mechanical strengths. There's a growing demand for such enhanced solutions, particularly in the automotive and battery sectors, driven by the electrification trend.

The initiative includes researching methods to quantify graphene in production baths and customizing graphene for specific purposes. Activities encompass the pilot plant's design, installation, and business development, along with verifying products and processes. Communicating progress to relevant industry stakeholders is also a critical component.
