Adaptive Tariffs for Efficient and Reliable Electricity Grids
Research Project, 2026 – 2028

The project will deliver a framework to simulate and optimize adaptive grid tariffs under rapid electrification. It will identify flexible loads and quantify their potential to improve grid efficiency and stability, providing actionable guidance for regulators and system operators designing real-world tariffs.The project moves beyond static tariff design by introducing a computational framework that jointly considers user behavior, grid constraints, and scalability. By enabling adaptive, data-driven tariffs at city scale, it challenges existing design paradigms and supports more efficient electricity systems. This approach could redefine how grid tariffs are designed and implemented in future electricity systems.
