Waste to design (W2D)
Research Project
, 2012
– 2015
This project, financed by the Mistra Closing the Loop initiative, brings together experts from Stena Recycling, Semcon and Chalmers to support bachelor and masters students while they do their theses on product development using industrial waste fractions without current commercial value as a starting point, which normally end their lifespan in incineration or landfill. The possibility of proposing new product development with materials from the waste streams, opens interesting new design and business opportunities, at the same time setting examples of resource recovery.
