Facing the energy challenge: Innovative business models for renovation of buildings
Research Project, 2013 – 2018

The overall objectives of this research concern how innovative business- and decision making models for energy efficient renovation of buildings are created, adopted, and acted upon by decision makers within the construction sector. The project is approaching this subject from two perspectives, focusing on two main actors identified as key stakeholders, i.e. public building owners and single family-house owners. The first perspective addresses how public construction clients refocus their decision making models in order to adjust their management practices and behaviour to set energy targets. The second focuses on business models for SMEs pursued through the creation of development alliances encompassing owners of single houses, craft contractors and building material manufacturing companies in a concerted innovation process.
