Demonstration plant for cold storage in phase change materials
Research Project, 2017
– 2018
In this project phase change materials (PCM) are used in an innovative way by reducing the cooling power requirement in an office building. A PCM based thermal energy storage designed to reduce the peak power demand by approximately 25% will be evaluated in a later project. Numerical modeling is used for design and evaluation of a pilot plants built in the laboratory. The overall objective of the project is to develop design tools (missing today) for similar PCM storages as well as lead to a full-scale demonstration facility.
