INDEED: Information and Data-processing in Focus for Energy Efficiency
Research Project, 2020
–
The aim of this work package is to provide methods and studies that address the challenges within information and data processing, particularly on processing data and extracting information for monitoring and for enabling possibilities in energy-efficiency in a cost-effective way. Focus for 2020 will be to work on: 1) methods and tools for data processing infrastructure for adaptive electricity systems, for continuous data-stream analysis on a variety of hardware/system architecture platforms, in low-latency and energy-efficient ways (i.e. enabling utilization of processing components in deployed distributed infrastructures, without the necessity to rely on data centers or public clouds). 2) Use-cases with analysis methods that generate useful information out of the data in evolving deployments, such as AMI at the customer side, as well as in core-network infrastructure of lower tiers (e.g. substations, distribution level), enabling low-voltage SCADA functionality. Examples of
scenarios are data validation, detection of unwanted situations, including cybersecurity threats.
