Solar shading in a holistic perspective: energy efficency to energy production and from product to architecture [ELSA]
Research Project, 2015 – 2017

The purpose of the project is to increase interest, knowledge and acceptance for solar shading products in existing as well as new buildings, with emphasis on PV integrated products. The project will be conducted in a multi-disciplinary innovation arena where we investigate acceptance for solar shading products from different actors and the need for further development. Within the project at least two solar shading demonstrations will be conducted which will be tested and evaluated from a holistic perspective(technology, energy, economy, architecture, indoor environment, user perspective) and at least one new solar shading product will be developed. An actions based research will utilize project experiences to draw more general conclusions around innovative products and processes in the construction sector.
