Healthcare transformation in Region Västra Götaland
Research Project, 2018 – 2020

The regional council has adopted a common strategy for expanding proximity-based care, concentrating of healtcare for higher quality and accessibility, developing digital forms of care and services and focusing on quality-driven business development.

The goal is a coherent and accessible health and medical care that is provided with the highest quality and patient safety, based on the individual's needs and experiences.

In order to enable system-affecting changes, the project is financed by SEK 1.6 billion over a four-year period. The Centre for Healthcare Improvement (CHI) participates as a research partner with the aim of highlighting the conditions, positioning and implementation of strategies and activities conducted within the transformation.
