Transmission of 3×224 Gbit/s DP-16QAM signals with (up to) 7.2 bit/s/Hz spectral efficiency in SMF-EDFA links
Paper in proceeding, 2012

We experimentally demonstrate 3x224 Gbit/s DP-16QAM transmission with spectral efficiencies (SEs) of 7.2(6.9) bit/s/Hz in 240(400)-km SMF-EDFA links. Such high-SE transmission is enabled by a digital post-filter and 4-state maximum likelihood sequence detection.
