Production of nanostructured metal particles from various electronic waste
Forskningsprojekt, 2017
– 2019
The project aims to investigate the production possibilities of nanostructured metal particles from electronic waste for advanced material applications. The proposal introduces an alternative approach to reclaim the valuable metal content of various waste stream as fine particles instead of circular material approach in one specific field. Recycling of metals (zinc, nickel, indium and REEs) from electronic waste, especially batteries and liquid crystal display (LCD) panels, is scarce due to both economical restrictions and technological limitations. However, development a production technology for the preparation of high added value nanostructured metal particles from electronic waste is an innovative solution for the economically feasible recovery of metals, and it can support the environmental and sustainable development.
