Design for Six Sigma in Healthcare; the Medication Process

This paper used an action research approach to study the application of DFSS in healthcare and explore its suitability in certain patient processes. The study concluded that DFSS is a suitable method for patient processes and that DMADV provides positive support for improvement work. However, one challenge in applying DFSS in a healthcare setting is to assess needs that are not explicit to the patient, which means that it is crucial to seek knowledge about implicit needs.
