Using active learning in hybrid learning environments

Engagement in synchronous learning activities is analysed both from a teacher and student perspective for two short flipped courses offered in a hybrid learning environment. Despite the remote nature of the courses for the off-site attendees in particular, careful planning of the synchronous activities resulted in deep student engagement.
