OPerational Network Energy managemenT for electrified buses (OPNET)
Research Project, 2018 – 2022

The goal of this project is to deploy novel energy optimization method that aims to optimize the energy efficiency of a swarm of electrified vehicles, especially commercial vehicles such as buses. Our approach is a hierarchical, bi-layered solution to ensure an optimal power split of each and every vehicle and at the same time respect network objective. We target to find an optimal powertrain control for each vehicle (low level) such that public transport network homogeneity (delay and bunching) costs/constraints are met. This means, objectives of operational energy management (high level) will adequately be addressed at the powertrain control level with the help of hierarchical control solution.
